Do you often use the view fit command and then the window area command
to find a new area of the drawing to work in? Although this seems to be fast there is
better way. The view window command in earlier versions of MicroStation used to expect a
datapoint to indicate the view in which to apply the window. Now MicroStation assumes that
the view you are defining the window in is the view you want to manipulate.
What if you want to make the window apply to a different view? At the bottom of each
window the small icons are the basic view controls. The fourth icon command from the left
is the view window command.
Open two or more views in MicroStation and tile or arrange.
In one view, fit all. Now using the view manipulation icon from the view that you wish to adjust then in the view that has the whole design fitted place a small window area. Notice that the window area is set up in the view that you selected the view command from. So the real advantage here is that you can set up a smaller navigation window and use it to display details in the other window. This technique will allow you to do a lot less zooming in and out.
