After you click on Window Area icon, the Tool Settings window will show an option button for you to select the view, with the label "Apply to Window:" next to it and a checkbox. If you set (click on) the checkbox or select a view from the option button then checkbox will "stick" and whatever window number you select from the option button's list, that window will immediately open (if is not open already). From now on, until you select another number from the list, all Windows Area views will be displayed there; regardless in which window you selected the window area command. If you toggle of the checkbox then it will toggle on only for that window area command.
