Press the Shift key and the Tentative button at the same time within a MicroStation view. The snap box opens. Select your snap and the box goes away. You won't have the snap toolbox taking up space and it's easy to use. Remember that if you hold the shift key down whilst selecting your snap this will set the snap mode if you do not use the shift key then you will only set the snap override.
