A useful tool in MicroStation J is the drag and drop facility. An example of this is the ability to drag files from Windows Explorer to the Reference Files dialog box, allowing quick and easy attachment of reference files. This facility also extends to the ability to open dgn files. Drag and drop the file you wish to open into any MicroStation view window to open the file in MicroStation. Note: if you use MicroStation files with extensions other than dgn, this will not work until you change the file association to recognise these files as MicroStation files. To do this select File>Associate.
