Stamp56 is an MDL application, developed by Australian
Data Systems, that is used to record, in single or batch mode, the projection details of a
design file in a Type 56 element. The format of the Type 56 stamp can be interpreted by
the MDL applications CartoMap, GdaAudit
and ProjectionView.
Tools are provided to assist the user create a text node containing projection details,
and to review the projection details from a design file and any attached reference files.
Bulk stamping a batch of design files is one of the most valuable functions of Stamp56. It creates a Type 56 projection stamp in a batch of design files without having to transform them. This is particularly useful if the files have already been transformed with a previous version of CartoMap or with another projection software package. The stamping process is summarised in a log file. When the bulk of the work is done, Stamp56 will be used to stamp every new design file as you create it.
