Productivity tools for MicroStation are an essential ingredient in completing a project in a timely manner. Australian Data Systems has released SmarTools, a collection of productivity tools for those organisations directly involved in schematic drafting. The tools contained in SmarTools have all been developed at the request of MicroStation users, so you can be assured the tools have practical application.
Place Cell and cut line(s): This tool allows for the quick and easy placement of a cell on a line. The cell will align to the line and upon placement will cut the line and add the cell and two resulting lines to a graphic group. If the cell overlaps multiple lines then all overlapping lines can be cut to fit the cell.
Delete Cell and heal line(s): This tool allows for the quick and easy deletion of a cell that is on a line. The cell will be delete and the line will be rejoined as one/multiple continous line/s.
Slide Cell: This tool allows for the quick and easy movement of a cell on a line. Movement of the cell will heal the cut line and allow the cell to slide along a line maintaining alignment and upon placement will re-cut the line and add the cell and two resulting lines to a graphic group.
Place Connector: This tool will allow for the placement of a connector line with options for a start and/or ending terminator cell aligned to the line. An option allows for the line to be placed as a line string element or as a series of line elements. The line and the terminators will be added to a graphic group.
Place Revision: This tool will allow for the placement of a Revision Cloud (including a free form option) along with a revision cell and a revision number.
Place Text and cut line: This tool allows for the quick and easy placement of text on a line. The text will align to the line and upon placement will cut the line and add the text and two resulting lines to a graphic group. This tool has many options that are controlled via the standard Tool Setting dialog box.
Delete Text and heal line: This tool allows for the quick and easy deletion of text that is on a line. The text will be deleted and the line will be rejoined as one continous line. If the text cuts multiple lines then all lines will be rejoined.
Label Lines to Grid: This tool is used to assist in the labelling of lines to reflect the grid location of the line. There are options to allow matching graphically to any existing text and picking up the symbology from the matched text to become the active settings. + and - buttons allow for the easy incrementing or decrementing of any column within the text.
Edit EnterData Fields within a Cell:This tool will allow you to edit text in an EnterData field within a Cell and even change the size of the EnterData field.
