Productivity tools for MicroStation are an essential ingredient in completing a project in a timely manner. Australian Data Systems has released GeoTools, a collection of productivity tools for those organisations directly involved in earth science related drafting. The tools contained in GeoTools have all been developed at the request of MicroStation users, so you can be assured the tools have practical application.

Grid
2D and 3D grid generation. Create lines, ticks, crosses, labels and a frame in plan, right or front view. Rotate the grid in plan view if required.
Label Point
Point labelling in a combination of Northing, Easting and RL. User-definable label format, separator and text symbology.
Label Line
Line labelling in a combination of Length, Bearing and Dip (in degrees, gradient or rise:run). User- definable label format can be run along the line or be in a separate box.
Place Gradient
Place a line at a gradient (eg. 1:20) on an incline or decline at a pre-defined bearing and/or distance.
Spin Cell
Rotate a cell or Text relative to a line or a point in the design file (both 2D and 3D).
Place Ticks
Position ticks at user-defined intervals along linear elements. The size, angle and symbology of the ticks is user-definable and ticks can be run across multiple intersecting elements.
Flood Fill
Create and fill a shape (polygon) of a void bounded by non-associated elements. Calculate the area and perimeter and place as text.
Unconformity Line
Converts linear elements to and from unconformity lines. Options allow creation of arc-chains, B-Splines or stroked line strings. The shape of the unconformity line is entirely user-definable.
Place Truncation
Places a truncation line at a user-specified offset from the intersection point of two linear elements. The truncation line and the two sides can optionally be chopped off, changed to new symbology or ignored.
